Short Term Goal:
With the 3.5 more months left in this school year, I want to continue exposing my students to STEM activities. I want to continue with my Imagine It with the 5th graders and challenge my students on a daily basis. They love when they are given challenges and problems and they need to solve them. I have already purchased some materials for the Maker Space I am going to start in the following week, and students have had 2 quick fires already in this semester. The only thing that has been holding me back, has been PARCC testing. It is preventing me to use my classroom and my technology, therefore, I needed to push my whole timeline 2 weeks back.
Long Term Goal:
In my long term plans, I plan to continue exposing my students to STEM but also further my career. I would love to have something set up at my school where I can help other teachers expose the students to STEM in their own classrooms. There are so many things I have learned over the past year, I have so many new ideas that I just want to share it with them. I know this is a long term goal, because all of the teachers at our school are very busy. Therefore, my short term goal for my long term goal is to create a workshop for those teachers who can find 30 minutes after school to do a quick fire challenge. I want to inspire them just like MSU Teachers and Fellows have inspired me.
